What is Driver CPC?
Driver CPC is for HGV and PCV drivers who drive in the UK. It has evolved from the EU Directive 2003/59, which is in place to improve the knowledge and skills of professional drivers.
The legislation is split into two parts:
New HGV and PCV drivers must obtain the initial qualification alongside their vocational licence which enables them to use their licence professionally. Existing HGV and PCV drivers must undertake periodic training, which involves undertaking 35 hours of training every 5 years.
Driver CPC came into force on 10th September 2008 for PCV drivers and the 10th September 2009 for HGV drivers.
Swift Training Centre in Newport, South Wales, was set up to deliver driver CPC training, and is accessible to every driver or business wishing to comply with the Driver CPC legislation.
We have been in the driving recruitment business for a number of years and have established our business as market leaders in the supply of temporary HGV drivers to local and national transport companies. We have a dedicated training team in place that deliver accredited courses designed to fulfil all your requirements under CPC legislation.
